DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the “Color Games 2026” ! \nThis month’s tournaments will be held on Saturday\, March 28th. 2026\, beginning at 9:00 AM. \nThe goal of The Color Games is to create a tournament that is competitive\, inclusive\, and fun\, while also giving our club members time to celebrate together after the matches. The theme will be Green Team vs. Gold Team\, creating a friendly team rivalry across the club.  \nOverview of the Concept: \nAll club members will be invited and encouraged to participate. \nEveryone who registers will be placed on one of two teams: Green or Gold. \nEach team will have two co-captains. \nThe co-captains will select their team members by alternating picks from the list of registered players\, which should add a fun and engaging element to the event. \nGold Team Captains – Jamie Delgado & Karen Schermerhorn\nGreen Team Captains – Bill Rosol & Vinny Murphy \nBrackets and Player Levels \nDuring registration\, players will select their bracket based on the usual categories: \nMen’s and Women’s Novice: 3.0 and below \nMen’s and Women’s Elite (4.0 Plus) \nWomen’s Intermediate: 3.0 – 3.5 \nWomen’s Advanced: 3.5 – 4.0 \nMen’s Intermediate: 3.0 – 3.5 \nMen’s Advanced: 3.5 – 4.0 \nThe tournament committee will assign players to balance the two teams as needed. \nTournament Format \nThe tournament will be played in a round-robin format. \nEach participant will play five games\, allowing everyone plenty of court time and interaction with other players. \nMedals will be given to the winning overall team Gold or Green\, using the scores of all games\, there will be no individual awards. \nBrackets are subject to change depending on number and skill of registrants and\, as usual\, the club retains discretion to shift players between brackets to maintain competitive balance\, and to ensure a sufficient number of players within each bracket. \nRegistration Timeline \nRegistration will open after the Pickleball Board meeting on March 10. \nRegistration will close on Sunday\, March 22. \nCost and Refreshments \nThe entry fee $20 per player. \nThis would include tournament fee\, morning snacks and a box lunch.  Wine and cheese will be served after the Medal ceremony as part of a post-tournament social to celebrate our players. \nVolunteers \nIf you are interested in helping out and volunteering for the tournament\, please sign up (electronically) by selecting the Volunteer (Lunch) ticket. \nHere’s wishing the best of luck to all our players; and if you are not playing\, come out to join in the fun and watch some great and exciting Pickleball.

The divisional brackets are: \nMen’s Advanced: 3.5 – 4.0 \nMen’s Intermediate: 3.0 – 3.5 \nMen’s and Womens Novice: 3.0 and below \nWomen’s Advanced: 3.5 – 4.0 \nWomen’s Intermediate: 3.0 – 3.5 \nThe afternoon session will feature doubles matches. The divisional brackets are: \nCreate Your Team – Members will choose teammates and the bracket in which they wish to play: \nMixed Doubles Advanced: 3.5 – 4.0 \nMixed Doubles Intermediate: 3.0 – 3.5 \nElite Open Round-Robin – Men and women 4.0+– Individual players will compete head-to-head in a gender-neutral\, round-robin format with each player facing all others. Final standings will be determined by overall performance across all matches: \nBrackets are subject to change depending on number and skill of registrants and\, as usual\, the club retains discretion to shift players between brackets to maintain competitive balance\, and to ensure a sufficient number of players within each bracket. \nThe cost to register is $15 for one event\, $30 for those registering for two individual events (a morning event and the Elite Open). The cost for each team entered in the Mixed Doubles Advanced or Mixed Doubles Intermediate is $30 per team. DESCRIPTION:Spring Team Competition for the Alan Garshon Memorial Trophy \nThis month’s tournaments will be held on Saturday\, March 29\, 2025\, beginning at 8:00 AM. It will be played to honor the memory of Alan Garshon and other club members we have recently lost. \nThe number of players will be unlimited\, as participants will be divided into two teams\, one red the other blue.  Players will be matched by skill levels and the winning team will be the one with the highest total of points. \nAll club members are encouraged to participate as the tournament brackets will range from newest beginner through most skilled\, elite player. The tournament will be conducted on a modified round robin basis. All players will play at least five games. Each player will receive a medal to reward his/her efforts\, either gold or silver\, and the winning team’s captain will enjoy possession of the cherished Alan Garshon Trophy for the year. \nFollowing the tournament\, we will assemble for a wine and cheese reception and the medal award ceremony. \nThe cost to register to play is $15. Lunch is optional at an additional cost of $15. \nPlayers are asked to rate their own skills when registering\, but the club retains discretion to create balanced teams based on the number and skill of registrants\, and to ensure a sufficient number of players within each bracket. \nRegistration closes at midnight on March 25th. \nHere’s wishing the best of luck to all our players; and if you are not playing\, come out to join in the fun and watch some great and exciting Pickleball. Spectators may purchase lunch for $15 by registering and paying online. \n * We need volunteer helpers to act as judges and score keepers. If you are willing to volunteer\, select the “Volunteer with Free Lunch” ticket. Helpers will receive a free lunch.
